The second raid of the sprawling Occupy Oakland compound led to the peaceful arrests of 32 people early this morning, and police and city officials called for calm as some Occupy supporters headed for other encampments.
Hundreds of law-enforcement officers converged before dawn on the tent city outside City Hall at 14th Street and Broadway. As the sun rose, the camp was dismantled, with officers removing tents and leading protesters away in plastic handcuffs.
