This is what California swampland looks like:
Laguna de Santa Rosa, is a swamp that runs 2/3rds the length of the county, and is part of an enormous swamp system that just about covers the entire Santa Rosa Plain. Such swamp systems are actually quite common in inland valleys of Northern California, especially, the northern Sacramento Valley.
